Cost of Living Adjustment and Social Security Benefits for 2024
Individuals receiving Social Security benefits for 2024 will see another increase in their benefit amount with the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). Retirement and Disability benefits will increase by 3.2% for this year.
Income thresholds for disability eligibility, also known as Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA), will increase to $1,550.00 ($2,590.00 if blind) in gross monthly income. Finally, disability recipients attempting to work can earn $1,110.00 in gross income per month without affecting their benefits under the "Trial Work Period" rule.
